This hand colored glass slide is an ORIGINAL and it is NOT a reproduction. It was created to be projected onto the movie theatre screen before the film was released to promote the "coming attraction". Some people in the movie collectible world have said, that, glass slides are much rarer than the paper poster memorabilia from the same film and are very rare pieces of film history.

Plot Summary:
Frank James (Henry Fonda), the brother of Jesse James, has been laying low, living as a farmer and taking care of Clem (Jackie Cooper), the son of one of the members of the James gang. He gets word that Jesse was killed by Bob (John Carradine) and Charlie Ford (Charles Tannen), he hoped that the law would deal with them but when he learns that the railroad man whom he and Jesse terrorized contracted them to kill Jesse and helped them get off, he goes after them. Clem whom he told to remain on the farm goes with him and when it's impossible for him to do so, Frank has no choice to let him tag along. Now in order to cover their tracks they start telling people that Frank James is dead and that they saw it. Eleanor Stone (Gene Tierney), a female reporter, who wants to write about it interviews them and they are both taken with each other. But eventually she learns who Frank is from the Pinkerton detective who is tracking them but doesn't turn them in. But eventually Frank learns that his farm hand, Pinky has been arrested as his accomplice and is about to be hung. ...
Trivia
:
Film debut of Gene Tierney.
The original treatment had Frank romantically interested in the reporter played by Gene Tierney, but the studio became fearful of a possible lawsuit by Frank's widow and/or son, so it was eliminated from the script.
Jackie Cooper and Matthew 'Stymie' Beard (as Stymie Beard) shared the same screen for the first time since their last appearances together in "Bargain Day (1931)" (as Hal Roach's Rascals).
In "Jesse James (1939)" and this movie, the sequel, "John Carradine," plays the historical figure Bob Ford, the resentful wannabe member of the James-Younger gang, who shot and killed Jesse James. The movie "The Long Riders (1980)" is a remake of the 1939 version, featuring Carradine's three sons David, Keith, and Robert Carradine, in the roles of the gang's three Younger brothers.
Note that "Jesse James" had been one of 20th Century-Fox's biggest hits of 1939, but of course, Tyrone Power Jr. died at the end of the movie, so the only way they could make a sequel was having it star Henry Fonda, reprising his role as Jesse's brother Frank!
As with their previous collaboration - "You Only Live Once" - Henry Fonda loathed working with Fritz Lang, due to his bullying conduct.

(who had a thing for beautiful young actresses). She made 9 movies in 1941 and 1942 alone. Her best two roles (and most memorable) came in 1944 and 1945, when she played the leads in

(nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). Her personal life was very troubled. She had many failed marriages and relationships (including Oleg Cassini, Tyrone Power Jr.,
John Kennedy
, and others), a mentally handicapped daughter (Tierney was pregnant when exposed to rubella by a fan who broke quarantine), and suffered from depression, and she was treated with electroshock therapy. She passed away in 1991 at the age of 70.
