    Description

    Up for bid is a nice modernist sterling rim bottle or pitcher coaster by Wallace.  The piece is 7 1/2 inches in diameter and stands 1 3/8 inches tall.  It has a reticulated sterling raised rim with a beaded edge.  The center is white porcelain with a modernist floral design, signed “Stuart”.  I believe this is a pattern by noted American abstract artist Stuart Davis.  The piece has black felt applied to the base.  It has not been monogrammed.  It is marked “WALLACE / STERLING / 4573” on the base rim.


    Condition on the coaster is quite good.  There are a few small spots and normal wear from use.  A nice piece of mid-century modernist hollowware!
