    Description

    Art Nouveau sterling silver oval candy dish or low basket with piercing in the swirl patterned border.  The dish weighs 2.92 troy ounces and measures 6 5/8 inches by 5 inches across and 1 1/8 inches high.  Marked on the base with Whiting's trademark and "Sterling  3868".  There's a 1/2 inch long deep scratch/scrape on the base that does not affect the appearance of the upper face bottom of the dish, fine shallow surface scratches generally, and a few tiny grey spots in the bottom of the dish, otherwise in good vintage condition.
