Antique c1880 Tiffany & Co Repousse Sterling Silver Footed Dish/Bowl 7.25"

Description

Presented is a marvelous antique sterling silver footed serving dish made by Tiffany & Company. The dish is beautifully finished with a wide band of hand chased, repoussé flowers and leaves against a finely stippled background. The center of the dish is monogrammed with MK in fancy script.
The dish is marked on the underside with a maker’s mark for Tiffany & Co. Makers, Sterling Silver, 925-1000, and the letter M for the president of Tiffany, Edward Moore, who was director of the company from 1873 to 1891.
The condition is excellent. The dish has some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, and some small dings here and there, but this is quite minor. The hand chased decoration is very crisp. There are no major dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The dish measures 7 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches tall.
The weight is 274.7 grams or 9.6 ounces.
