1873-1891 Beautiful Tiffany & Co Sterling Silver Covered Serving Dish Tureen
Presented is a fabulous Tiffany & Co sterling silver serving dish or tureen. This piece dates to 1873-1891. The dish is beautifully decorated around the side and foot with a continuous band of rich arabesque design. The handle on the lid as well as the handles on the sides are done in an interesting 'flowing' style, very soft and appealing. The dish has a monogram on one side of ES in classic Tiffany style font. The dish is a good large size, great for serving soup, potatoes, or whatever else you'd like to keep warm on the dinner table.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped with the Tiffany & Co. maker's mark, sterling 925-1000 and the initial 'M' for the company director between 1873-1891, Edward Moore. The dish is also stamped with the capacity, 2 quarts.
This piece measures about 12 3/4 inches from handle to handle and stands about 8 inches tall.
This piece weighs 1398.4 grams or 49.3 regular ounces.
